This yummy southwest-style spaghetti sauce is a nice change from traditional Italian sauce

21/2 pounds ground turkey

1 large onion, diced

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons minced garlic

2 tablespoons salt

11/2 teaspoons black pepper

11/2 teaspoons paprika

3 tablespoons chili powder

11/2 tablespoons cumin powder

9 ounces tomato paste

1 cup water

In a skillet, saute the onions and garlic in the oil. After 2-3 minutes, add the meat, cooking and stirring until no longer pink.

Pour the mixture into a crock pot and add the seasonings, tomato paste, and water.

Cook on low heat for 4-5 hours.

Serve over pasta and with a salad and garlic bread.
