Super Simple Festive Cranberry Sauce

Super Simple Festive Cranberry Sauce

Years ago, I used to buy cranberry sauce in a can, and I still like the ease of slicing off a thin piece to add to a sandwich, following the lines of the can that are imprinted on the jelly! For flavor though, you can’t beat homemade sauce, and when it’s this simple to make, why wouldn’t you?

This dead-simple sauce takes minutes to make, and once you realize how easy it is, you’ll make it year after year.

3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar

1/2 Cup Orange Juice

1/2 Cup Water

12 Ounces Fresh or Frozen Cranberries

a Pinch of Salt

1 Large Cinnamon Stick

Zest of 1 Orange

In a large saucepan or Dutch Oven, combine the sugar, orange juice, water, and salt. Stir in the cranberries, and drop in the zest and cinnamon stick.

Simmer over medium-high heat for approximately ten minutes, until the cranberries pop.

Let cool, remove the cinnamon stick, and store in a sealed container.
